Sustainability Protocol
Honest talk about waste, labour, and why we're not saving the planet
NO GREENWASHING. NO FALSE PROMISES. NO PLANET-SAVING CLAIMS.
Full Disclosure
We're not saving the planet. One small independent fashion brand making made-to-order pieces in Ireland isn't going to reverse climate change or solve the waste crisis. We know this.
What we are doing: making less stuff, making it better, and making it last. We care about waste because waste is stupid. We care about labour because exploitation is wrong. We care about durability because disposable fashion is a symptom of a deeper sickness.
This isn't a sustainability strategy. It's a business model that happens to be less destructive. We're not perfect. We're just trying to be honest.
What We Actually Do
Not promises. Not aspirations. Just the things we do because they make sense.
Made-to-order means zero overproduction. We don't make things until you order them. This isn't revolutionary—it's just basic math. Less stuff made equals less stuff wasted. We're not scaling to save the world; we're staying small to stay sane.
Every prescription is built to outlive trend cycles. We use quality materials, proper construction, and techniques that have survived centuries. If it falls apart in a year, we've failed. Emotional connection requires physical longevity.
Everything is made in Ireland by one person. That person is paid fairly, works reasonable hours, and has full visibility into the supply chain. No factories. No middlemen. No exploitation. Just honest work for honest money.
We still create waste. Packaging exists. Shipping happens. Materials have footprints. We're not carbon neutral. We're not zero waste. We're just trying to minimize the damage while being honest about what we can't eliminate.
What We Don't Claim
The things we're not doing, the claims we're not making, and why that's actually fine.
We don't offset. We don't claim neutrality. Every shipment has a footprint. Every material extraction has consequences. We acknowledge this instead of buying our way out of guilt.
Some packaging requires plastic. Some materials contain synthetics. We choose durability over purity. A piece that lasts ten years beats a biodegradable one that disintegrates in two.
This model doesn't work at scale. We're not trying to dress the world. We're trying to dress the people who need symbolic armor. Growth isn't the goal. Integrity is.
The Real Sustainability
Real sustainability isn't about carbon offsets or recycled packaging. It's about making things that people want to keep. It's about emotional connection that outlasts trend cycles. It's about durability that becomes heirloom.
When you buy something from SOME DOSE, you're not buying a product. You're buying a prescription. A talisman. A piece of symbolic armor. That emotional connection is what makes it sustainable—because you won't throw it away. You'll repair it. You'll keep it. You'll pass it down.
The most sustainable piece is the one you never want to replace. That's what we're building. Not planet-saving. Just less wasteful. Less exploitative. Less disposable.
